Is this legal advice?

No. Permito is not a law firm. We show where your independently given answers differ and explain that officers compare them. We never tell you what to say — and we don't work with couples who want us to.

Does a mismatch mean we'll be denied?

No. Officers weigh, they don't count. One conflict on a fact they can verify — your address, how you filed taxes — matters more than ten about dinner. The report tells you which is which.

Is separate questioning really a thing?

Yes. USCIS policy lets the officer interview "the petitioner, beneficiary, or both parties, either together or separately at any stage". It's called a Stokes interview.

What if my spouse doesn't want to?

You can still practice alone. But the mismatch report needs both of you — that's the whole point. Most spouses say yes once they see the questions above.
